The previous site fell within the Almondbury conservation area, however, was not in keeping with the design standards. Indeed the local authority was so eager to see the previous building demolished, that permission was granted for two in its place. The designs for both properties combined traditional stone features along with contemporary glazed detailing. Both houses make use of the sloping site, with varying roof heights and internal levels typical of the area. Large areas of glazing take advantage of the orientation of the properties, The dwellings are now well established within the context of the conservation area.
