Paul and Matt at Northern Design Partnership are currently assisting us with two ongoing projects. One being the extension of our commercial premises and the other the construction of our two homes. They are very attentive and carry out their work in a friendly manner. Their on-site involvement has been invaluable. A five bedroom new build in 2015 or our present 2 bedroom downsized refurb. Two different types of projects but met with the same care and consideration from start to finish. We have been looked after by Paul Briggs who accommodated our mood swings and changes. Time was never a problem; we never felt we couldn't make contact on even the smallest point. Finalising detailed plans or dealing with building regs; an "after sales" care which is not easy to find these days. Unlike the Scottish goalkeeper joke "With Northern Designs you are in safe hands"

We were recommended Northern Design Partnership by our builder, who did a terrific job securing planning permission for the demolition of our bungalow and rebuild of a bespoke family home. They fulfilled every aspect of the brief, providing creative ideas where appropriate, such as unique oak feature windows at the rear and eye-catching oak entrance porch. From design right through to completion Paul and Matt were very professional, innovative, friendly and always there to advise and assist every step of the way. We are delighted with how the project was handled; but most importantly highly delighted with the end result. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

We wanted a contemporary extension to an old stone house; Paul and his team provided a friendly, original and timely service. He worked well with our chosen builder to deliver a beautiful, light-filled, well planned and pleasant home. We were most impressed with the finished result, as was the building inspector as he suggested that it should be submitted for an architectural award! Well done and thank you Paul.

The requirement was to bring more light into what was a dark north facing lounge. We worked closely with Matt to look at how this could be done as there was already an extension on the property, that could have made the project technically complex. However, the solution he came up with was amazing. By providing a digital walkthrough of the proposed development it even allowed us to consider and visualise the interior design prior to any work commencing. Matt completed the planning process and then his great relationship with the contractors ensured that everything was delivered as intended. The result is that the extension has completely transformed our living space. I would certainly recommend Northern Design Partnership.

Embarking on a self-build journey of any size is a daunting task and therefore the choice of the right firm of architects becomes paramount. From the very start Paul and NDP shared our vision and showed passion for the project. In my eyes that is what makes the difference. This though is all well and good, but the real test of professionalism comes not in fancy offices, frosted glass and nice coffee, but in real world support to overcome real world issues when you hit the inevitable bumps in the road that self-build brings. NDP delivered. One works very closely with an architect throughout your project and knowing that you have professionals who care about your project as passionately as you do is a real comfort. We found this in NDP…. And the coffee wasn’t bad either.

We have used Northern Design Partnership for almost 20 years and have worked closely with Paul Briggs and his team. We have found the firm to be professional, efficient and innovative with excellent communication and team working skills. Paul has used his skills to work through a number of challenging planning applications. He created unique ideas and solutions to problems which led to the planning applications being passed by the council. The most recent project being a large two storey extension to my GP practice. Their design team are second to none and all of our plots on the current project sold off plan due to the intricate detail of the properties designed by Northern Design Partnership. They liaise closely with planning officers at the council and make this process extremely simple so that we as a developing company can focus on building quality homes.
